Piston compressors are the oldest and most widely used of all industrial compressors. Reciprocating air compressors are positive displacement (displacement) compressors. This means that the air is offset and compressed in a closed volume, moving towards the high-pressure side. Air flow from the low pressure side to the high pressure side and the reciprocating element, for example: the piston's movement is in the form of a push. In piston air compressors, air is compressed by the continuous displacement (offset) of the piston moving in the cylinder.
In piston air compressors, if compression (compression) occurs during piston movement to only one side/direction (up, in the opposite direction of suction), it is called a double (direction) effect piston compressor, if compression occurs during piston movement in either direction (up and down or right and left).
Suction baptises open when the pressure in the cylinder (reduced by the suction action of the piston) is less than the intake/intake pressure of air. The outlet valves open when the pressure in the cylinder (increased by the compression effect of the piston) is less than the compressor outlet pressure.
